Spring Reflections

Memorial day marks five years in Charleston.

Five years that I have been on a pursuit of becoming a full time artist. I can’t help but reflect on all that has changed since I was first settling down here in the Lowcountry. So often social media makes things look like they effortlessly happen over night. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to share all that I’ve experienced and experimented with over these past few years.

While I am more excited than ever about opportunities that lie ahead, I know acknowledging all that hard work that it has taken to get here is equally as important. I hope that this visual journal is encouraging to anyone else who is embarking on their own creative journey. If I have learned anything, it is that the best thing we can do is listen to every call that excites our spirit.

Food, painting large scale, and collaborating with my community have all come to me naturally and are genuine passions of mine. I feel incredibly lucky that over time more people have begun to recognize and connect with my work. I know that artists are tools for communities. They offer the ability to connect, educate, and create a sense of hope. It is knowing this that continues to motivate and inspire where my creative journey ventures next.
